This post is all about the best place to get daifuku mochi in Paris (but not only!)
You can eat many different delicious desserts in Paris. However, one stands out for me and it’s not even a typical French dessert!
I’m talking about the wonderful Japanese sweet: mochi!
If you have never tried mochis, I would encourage you to try it. The exterior is made from glutinous rice flour. The sweet center is made from either red or white beans.
The great news is that you can different flavors to the basic bean paste: matcha, yuzu, and black sesame. The sky’s the limit!

Where is it?
La Maison du Mochi has currently 2 shops in Paris:
Shop 1: 120 rue de Turenne, 75003 Paris, France
Shop 2: 39 rue du Cherche-Midi, 75006 Paris, France
The 1st shop is close to the metro station “Filles du Calvaire” on line 8. The 2nd shop is close to the metro station “Rennes” on line 12 or “Sèvre-Babylone” on lines 10 and 12.
If you are not near either one of those, you could have those delivered to you! You need to place your order on their site and you’ll receive your treats by mail. You can choose your delivery date when you are ordering.
However, to be on the safe side, you should expect a potential one-day delay.
How are the mochis?
(this is one of my favorites: the Matcha Daifuku Mochi!)
La Maison du Mochi sells two types of mochis: daifuku mochi and ice-cream mochi.
My favorites are the daifuku ones. The great thing is that they have certain mochis that you can have all year long. Those flavors are matcha, red bean, black sesame, and yuzu.
Then depending on the season and the availability of the different fruits and herbs they rotate the other flavors such as rose, bergamot, chocolate, and buckwheat.
On top of all that, they have a flavor of the month…which changes every month 🙂
The best way to know exactly what special flavors they currently have is to follow their Instagram!
They also offer hot and cold refreshments. if you are lucky you’ll find a little table to enjoy your drink and mochis in their little shop!
If you are feeling adventurous, they sell a kit to make your own mochis at home. Could make for the perfect afternoon activity!
