This post is all about my blogging goals for January 2022.
Starting a blog seems so easy…but I have learned that it is a lot of work! I started my WordPress blog around June 2021…and I didn’t do much with it for several weeks. I followed Sophia Lee’s blogging course and was trying to implement step by step her blogging method. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the biggest success in 2021 due to a lack of commitment on my part, my full-time job taking a lot of time, and getting married during the summer of 2021. There was a lot on my plate and the blog got pushed to the back burner.
Excuses, excuses, I know.
As the saying goes: “New Year, new me”! I am starting this year with precise and measurable blogging goals and keeping myself accountable by writing about them. I plan on doing those posts once a month and checking in at the end of each month to see how I did.
So without further ado, here are my goals for January 2022

I have 3 major goals for my WordPress blog for the month of January:
-
1 blog post per week
The key thing I have learned from the various blogging videos and blogging courses on starting a blog is that: consistency is key! I tried last year to do just that but only managed to get 3 posts out. 2022 needs to be better.
In 2022 I want to post one blog post per week. This might not seem like much, but posting one good blog post is quite time-consuming (so I learned). So I prefer to commit to 1 post a week rather than stopping everything by mid-March.
Here are the steps I have taken:
-
- Plan my content for January in an excel sheet: post title, content I want to discuss, date I want to post
- Book time slots in my Google agenda to prepare and write my January posts as well as start preparing next month’s articles.
I would say so far so good…but then again we are in the first days of January.
Based on last year’s experience I really need to turn everything into those manageable baby steps.

Finalize the Hassle-free travel guide to France
I have come to appreciate the importance of a freebie as a blogger, especially when you are starting a blog. The idea is that you create a value-added document you gift people who subscribe to your newsletter. It acts as an incentive in exchange for email information.
I created a freebie all about helpful travel tips for France, as this is part of my niche. I have done good progress already on the content aspect of the freebie, but it still needs some attention and final touches.
Once that’s done, I’ll need to focus on the presentation aspect. This part is quite time-consuming but also one of the most critical aspects for people to truly enjoy it.

Following Sophia Lee’s Perfecting Pinterest course
Another important step I want to take in January is diving into Sophia Lee’s Pinterest course. Writing great blog posts is one of the aspects of blogging. The second one is getting it out there. This is ironic considering the blog is already “out there” on the internet…but there are a lot of blogs on the web. So I need to follow some strategies to get it in front of people who would be interested in it.
This is one of the aspects I am the least knowledgeable about and need the most help with since starting a blog. I don’t really use Pinterest myself, so I really am starting from scratch here.
The goal is to follow the course and apply it exactly as she teaches it and learn how it works for me and my blog. I’m sure I won’t be done with this goal in January, but I need to start somewhere.
