This post is all about my blogging goals in February 2022!
It has already been one month since my last blogging report on my whole starting a blog on WordPress adventure! In terms of mindset, I have been very focused and intentional on all the things I needed to do for my blog. I can confirm it takes time to do all those! Every blogger out there has been saying that this was very much underestimated by new or wannabe bloggers. To be honest it has not always been easy to do some blogging work during the week. I learned that it was much easier to do “smaller tasks” during the week. This allowed focusing on the more time-consuming ones during the weekend.
My focus areas evolved a bit during the course of the month, as new priorities rose up. I’m sure they are still going to evolve as I continue learning and managing my blog. it’s all about flexibility!
So without further ado! Here are is my look back on January 2022 and my blogging goals for February 2022!
Starting a blog – February 2022
Looking back at January 2022
The 3 major goals I had in January 2022 were as follow:
Post one blog post per week
I did put out one blog post per week! I’d say the writing of blog posts is the most time-consuming task out of everything so far. I’m not sure if things will become easier as time passes by, but for the moment I try to write all my posts on the weekend, where I have larger chunks of uninterrupted time.
To help me get organized, I had purchased back in 2020 a blogging planner from Amazon: the EpicBlog editorial planner. It has helped me to collect all my notes from the various course I have been taking. In addition, it has a very nice double-page monthly calendar, which has helped me quite a bit to plan out my various posts and Pinterest tasks throughout the month. To be honest, things are still moving around a lot, as I don’t always manage to do things when I planned to. This is why my Google agenda has been a lifesaver because it is much easier to move tasks around.
Finalize the Hassle-free travel guide to France (my freebie)
Around mid-January, I still hadn’t even started on this goal and I made the decision to focus my attention on…something completely unplanned! I went back to the blogging courses Sophia Lee recommended and I purchased a new course: Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing by Michelle Schroeder-Gardner. Since one of the goals of my blog is to earn money, I wanted to get familiar with affiliate marketing pretty early in the blogging process. So I decided to prioritize this over the completion of the freebie. To be honest I hesitated between the course on affiliate marketing and the List Love Masterclass course by Jennifer Maker. I even debated purchasing both courses but reconsidered the decision for several reasons. First for financial reasons, and secondly I wanted to focus on the courses I was going to purchase (on top of the courses I already had). I’ll definitely come back to the mailing list course and thus my freebie at a later stage
Follow (and start applying) Sophia Lee’s Perfecting Pinterest course
I made it through 70% of Sophia Lee’s Pinterest course and have started applying her method. Since I was brand new to Pinterest I had a lot to catch up on! Everything was so new and foreign to me. I managed to start pinning pins to my boards, create my own pins using Canva and schedule everything. For the scheduling, I purchased a plan from Tailwind and also use the free Pinterest scheduler. I’ve made such big progress, I am quite proud of myself on this own. Pinterest was definitely out of my comfort zone, but once you put the time and you do the things: it’s not that complicated in the end!

February 2022 blogging goals
Here are the two goals I want to focus on in the course of February 2022:
one blog post per week and my Pinterest tasks
I want to continue working on my blogging consistency and publish one blog post per week in February. From the blogging course I have been following, I understand that it would be better to post 2 per week. However, with my job, I would not be able to commit every week to 2 blog posts. So 1 it is for Feb!
On top of that, I’ll continue using Tailwind and the Pinterest Scheduler according to the principles taught by Sophia Lee in her course. I really want to get even more familiar with all the steps to the method for another couple of months before I can start tweaking things.
finish the affiliate marketing course
My other goal this month will be to continue (and hopefully finish!) my affiliate marketing course. I am very excited about this and don’t really know yet what all the next steps this will entail, as I am only 13% into the course, but I’ll find out very soon. I really want to start working on this aspect of my blog as a priority!
